In Year 3 we kicked off our Science topic by looking at some rocks! We watched a video that showed us how to test if some rocks were hard or soft. We then sorted the rocks physically into categories that we decided ourselves. Some of us sorted them into hard or soft, some used colours. From this we learnt the names of the rocks and sorted them into a Venn diagram.
Ceejay said “I can see parts of animal that can make up a rock.”
Our next lesson was an investigation on how waterproof rocks are. We used pipettes to drop water on to rocks and then we made close observations.
