Year 4 Spellings 30/3/20

Here are your spellings for the week, Year 4! The test will be posted on Friday, just like last week.

This week, the focus is contractions. Do ensure you know how to use these words in a sentence and spend time talking about where to apostrophe goes.

Also, it is very important that you know the difference between these words and how they are correctly used:

your / you're
its / it's
he's / his
we'll / well
we're / were

Look…Say…Cover…Write…Check 30/3/20
Contractions. Remember, the apostrophe must be in the correct place to be correct!

Welcome to a new week, Year 4!

Good morning, year 4!

Another Monday without seeing your cheeky faces...but we've been loving your engagement with Google Classroom so thank you and keep this up!

This week, we will be uploading a Maths and English task daily to Google Classroom for you to complete. So once you have completed it, click 'turn it in' on the top right corner. If you have any questions (parents or students!) please feel free to private message us on the Google Doc 'Chat to Miss Young' or 'Chat to Miss Islam'.

Idea of a timetable this week:

Disclaimer: Please do not feel pressured to stick to this timetable hour by hour. It is just a tool that you may use to your own flexibility as a household. It was only created to mimic the normal timetable in school to create some normality. However, if these timings do not work for you and your family, then please do not attempt to stick to it rigidly!

Advice from us:
  • PE is scheduled for a Monday, but it would be great if you would do PE every day with Joe Wicks
  • Watch Newsround on CBBC and write down what you learnt or tell an adult. Can you present your own news?
  • Listen to David Walliams read stories everyday at 11AM
  • Gain Miss Young's super fast typing skills using her secret weapon...Dance Mat Typing by BBC.
  • Add to your reading river on Google Classroom, a visual activity where the children make a collage (which can include drawings, photos, labels, etc) of all the text types that they 'flow through' during a certain time period. This will be the main 'morning activity' for this week.
Examples of reading rivers look like this:

Year 4 Spellings 23/3/20

Afternoon all, here are your spellings for the week!

We have set the same spellings as last week to give you extra time to work on them due to last week being a little disrupted, and many of you were not in to complete the test.

I will be going live on Facebook on Friday, after PE with Joe Wicks, to do your spelling test with you. Keep your eyes peeled on the Facebook page at 10:30am with a pencil and paper at the ready!

See you then!

Miss Estall.
