Birch Attendance Award

Today Birch were very lucky to have been given their attendance reward. Over the last week every single child met the expectations of turning up on time every day and the whole class were rewarded this afternoon with a cupcake party. They certainly enjoyed it as not one cake was left. Well done Birch!

Dougie the Builder!

As part of our topic on the local area, Year 3 and 4 have also been looking closely at different buildings and the different materials they are made from.

Miss Fox organised for a builder to come in and work with us to show us the different materials builders use when they build houses. We then got to build our own house from wooden bricks!
It was a great day and we learned a lot - thank you Dougie Builder!

Out and About

This term, Year 3 and 4 are studying their local area. We are investigating the types of buildings and facilities we have, along with looking at how they are built and what they are made from.

To start our investigation, we thought we had better take a closer look at our local area and so we all went on a locality walk last week.

Here are some of the pictures from our walk:

PDSA Pet Guides

During our first week back to school, Key Stage 2 were lucky enough to have a visit from the PDSA.

Amy, the nurse, told us all about how the PDSA care and look after poorly animals and also gave us some useful tips on how to keep our animals fit and healthy at home.

We decided that we wanted to use this information to make our own 'How to Look After Your Pet' guides, which Rowan shared in their assembly.

Here are some pictures of our work:

Project Superstar!

Lucy has gone that extra mile by creating this fabulous space station as her homework project!

She was inspired by our science topic of Space from last term and has built, along with a little help from her Dad, this super space station.  It comes fully equiped with a launch pad and full satellite system!

'It took about a day to make. My Dad helped me nail the wooden satellite parts on and then I used cardboard to make the launch pad and then painted it all silver.' Lucy told Miss Fox.

Well done on the incredible effort Lucy!
