Year 3 Certificates - 31.03.23

 

A huge well done to all of our wonderful certificate winners this week!

In Literacy, we have completed our unit on Poetry and the pupils created some excellent poems which they then performed infront of their wholess, showing great resilience! It was so great watching everyone apply their knowledge of performance poetry to bring their poems to life. 

In Maths, we used scales and lots of items to measure and compare masses. We were then asked to weigh out a specific measurement of an ingredient so if you're planning on doing any baking over the holidays, be sure to ask them for help!

In Science, we had the opportunity to get up and about and check out which of our muscles help us to complete a range of exercises! We learnt about how tendons connect muscles to the bone, the importance of bones and how muscles work together to contract and relax to help us throughout the day.

Year 3 Easter Activities!

 

Year 3 Easter Activities

In Year 3 we can't believe it is Easter already! However, we will never miss an opportunity to celebrate. We were delighted to see how many amazing Easter bonnets had been made this morning, each one being completely unique! We showed off our hard work in hall with Mrs Nicholls and Mrs Stanley who then chose the winning 3 from our Year group. We ended our day with an Easter egg hunt and other activities! A huge congratulations to all of the children graduating from Comfy Cushions this week! You showed fantastic resilience skills when creating and sewing your cushions and you demonstrated great reciprocity skills when working with your peers.

 Showstoppers!

A huge congratulations to all of the pupils who graduated from Showstoppers this week. It has been a brilliant 10 weeks together filled with creativity, hard work and dedication. The whole team used their reciprocity skills to create a fantastic mystery movie and it was enjoyed by everyone at our graduation. I am really proud of you all!

Year 3's VR workshop!

 Year 3 enjoyed an amazing VR workshop today! 

In Geography, they have been learning all about Europe and in the VR workshop, they were able to travel around the world to see fascinating sights such as the Eiffel Tower, the Sydney Opera House and the Great Wall of China! 

The children took it in turns to use the VR headset and then they answered questions about what they saw. They used their reflectiveness skills to reflect on what we have been learning about and answered questions such as 'What continent was the landmark in?' and 'What country was the landmark in?'.
