Year 4 Research With A Purr-pose

Our classrooms have recently transformed into buzzing newsrooms! During Guided Reading, the children dove into non-fiction texts, each choosing a specific cat to research frm their non-fiction extract this week.

To bring their findings to life, we used Readers’ Theatre to turn them into "On-the-Scene" reporters. The children didn't just recite facts; they mastered the prose, focusing on their delivery and body language to engage their audience. By embodying a reporter's stance and authoritative tone, they moved beyond simple decoding to true communication. It’s been a joy to watch their confidence soar as they turn "boring" research into a captivating performance!

"Domestic cats evolved from wild cats!" Wais, Willow

"Cheetah's are the fastest land animal!" Edie, Maple

"The Eurasian Lynx is much bigger!" Hayden, Elm
