WILD Curriculum
This week, the Year 3 children had a brilliant time during their latest WILD Curriculum (Forest School) session. They learnt how to use various tools to create and decorate personalised key rings. Additionally, they had a coice of creating bracelets or necklaces from colourful beads and wood stems. The children loved their necklaces so much that they still wore them days after their Forest School session. Well done Year 3.

Year 4 have enthusiastically begun their new class novel, The Boy in the Girls’ Bathroom by Louis Sachar.
The children have been exploring the main character, Bradley Chalkers, looking closely at his personality, behaviour and actions. They have had thoughtful discussions about first impressions and how Bradley presents himself compared to how he may really be feeling inside.
As part of our work, the children completed a Role on the Wall activity to explore Bradley’s appearance, personality traits and emotions in more depth. They have also been making predictions about upcoming events in the story, using evidence from the text to support their ideas.
To deepen their understanding, the children took part in a hot-seating activity, where they asked and answered questions in role as different characters to explore thoughts and feelings. They also role-played the family dinner scene, carefully considering how Bradley interacts with his family and what this reveals about his character.

A huge, thundering round of applause must go to Elm Class! You absolutely smashed the Spring 1 battles, winning all but one of them! That's an incredible achievement, showing fantastic dedication and some seriously speedy times tables recall. Miss Brimmer is bursting with pride, and she's already planning a special reward to celebrate your triumph when the time is right. Get ready for something fantastic, Elm Class – you've earned it!
Speaking of fantastic achievements, don't forget our weekly TTRS battles! Every single weekend, our classes go head-to-head to see who can earn the most points and become the Times Tables Champions.
Parents and Children! These weekend battles aren't just for bragging rights – there's always a brilliant prize up for grabs for the winning class. It's the perfect way to sharpen those maths skills, have some fun, and help your class scoop a reward! So, get logged in, hit the Garage, play those Studio games, and earn those points. Every correct answer makes a difference!

Today, Year 4 children completed one of their 48 Experiences at Broadford. During this exciting session, they had the opportunity to design and create their own board games.
The children chose a selection of popular game styles, including Snakes and Ladders, memory games, and themed tracks to follow. Working in small groups, they demonstrated excellent reciprocity and oracy skills, collaborating thoughtfully, sharing ideas, and listening carefully to one another as they brought their creations to life.
Following the design process, the children wrote a clear set of instructions to explain how to play their games, showing their understanding of structure and audience.
They all had a fantastic day and should be very proud of their teamwork, creativity and effort!

This week, our Year 3 pupils enjoyed a scenic walk to Dagenham Park. Starting from the school gates, the children practised their observational skills by sketching key landmarks and points of interest along the route. Once at the park, they took in the serene atmosphere of the woods, with some even taking a moment to sit and relax. Well done, Year 3!
