What a fantastic first full week back for Year 3! After the summer holidays, the children have been getting used to being back at school and beginning to adjust to the routines and expectations of Year 3. In Maths, we have been learning about place value to 100, using tens and ones, place value charts and part-whole models to help us understand how numbers are made. In Literacy, we have been taking steady steps towards Year 3 writing goals, exploring expanded noun phrases, fronted adverbials and action verbs to make our sentences more interesting and detailed.
In PSHE, we have been learning about risks and how to keep ourselves and others safe by identifying dangers, considering risks and thinking about ways to reduce them. Alongside our learning, we have been re-establishing our daily routines and discussing the importance of coming to school each day, being ready to learn and making positive choices. We have also talked about how change is a natural part of growing up and that new experiences can help us become more confident and independent.
We are very proud of how the children are beginning to find their feet and look forward to supporting them as they continue to grow, learn and develop throughout Year 3. Thank you, as always, for your continued support at home.
