Year 3 go Around the World!

Yesterday, the classrooms in Year 3, were changed into virtual reality workshops! 

Using the latest VR technology, the children were simultaneously taken on a virtual trip around the world! Linking to our learning this year, the workshop allowed the children to apply their resourcefulness skills by locating countries', continents and landmarks.

All of the children were amazed by the workshop and there were plenty of shouts of delight and awes of wonder expressed throughout the morning.

This week was national science week and the children had great fun creating their own posters as to what time means to them. We also learnt how to take our pulse, record it before we participated in cardiac activity and then after to see what the difference was. The children also ran a race to see who was the fastest runner in Year 4, results to be 

revealed when the winning child brings the certificate home!

Readers Theatre in Year 3!

 

Readers' Theatre is a reading activity which involves reading a script aloud in a small group. This week in Year 3, the children have taken a script from their class novel  Charlie Changes into a Chicken and worked in small groups to take turns to speak. They have applied their reciprocity skills to work alongside others and their resourcefulness skills to act imaginatively.

During this session, the children were concentrating on maintaining eye contact with their audience and displaying confidence when reading aloud.

The Year 3 staff have been blown away by the children's speaking skills, a huge well done to all of the children.
