Year 3 Superstars!

 

A huge well done to all of our wonderful certificate winners this week!

The Year 3 children have had a fabulous week of learning. In Literacy they continued to read the class novel- Georges Marvelous Medicine and incorporated shape poetry into their learning. T Maths has continued to focus on time and the children have been reactivating their prior learning and continuing to investigate digital and analogue clocks. In Science, the children took on a new investigation - how to grow the tallest sunflower. They have planted their seeds so now it is time to get growing!

As always, the children have been superstars this week and we are all so proud of them.

3. On a digital 24 clock, at certain times all the digits are consecutive (in counting order). You can count forwards or backwards. For example 1:23 or 5:43.

The children began the week by predicting what all of the different potions might be linked to! Maths has focused on time where the children have recapped their prior knowledge before moving on to digital and analogue clocks.

The children have been superstars this week and we are all so proud of them.

Year 3's Literacy Legends!

To kick start our last term together, Year 3 have had an exciting week immersing themselves in our new Literacy book 'George's Marvellous Medicine!'

We started the week by looking at different pieces of equipment such as paint, food coloured water, spoons, pictures and poems. We worked together in groups to predict what we think our new book might be about. We then completed a puzzle of the front cover in Guided Reading to find out it was George's Marvellous Medicine! The children used their reflectiveness skills very well to reflect on their inference and retrieval skills and they displayed great reciprocity skills when working together. 

We have then moved on to asking questions of what we would like to know about the book and we have delved into character description of George and Grandma. The children used a thesaurus to up level their adjectives and we created a role on the wall to keep in class.
