Our Year 3 children  learnt  amazing DIY skills this

half term. They covered skills like tying shoe laces,

health snack choices, using a tape measure, setting

a table, using cutlery sets ,making a breakfast bar (non-cooked),

fire safety,  knowing escape routes  and smoke alarms.

Tying Shoe Laces

Our children watched a demonstration of how to

tie shoe laces. Thereafter, they  practised how to get their

tied.

Health Snack Choices

Another of the life skills topics was healthy snack

choices. The children learnt the difference between

healthy and unhealthy snacks with the importance

of eating healthy snacks.

Using a tape measure

Yet another skill taught was how to measure things

using  a tape measure. Again, the children had plenty

of practice as shown below.

Setting a Table and Using Cutlery Set

Next came setting a table and using cutlery sets

correctly. It was a joy to watch our children

setting tables and learning to use cutlery sets correctly.

Making a breakfast bar (non-cooked)

Additionally, our pupils learn to make

scrumptious delicious non - cooked breakfast bars.

Fire Safety

Furthermore, they learnt about fire safety

and knowing escapes routes  and smoke alarms.
