Dad and Kids Sports’ Night

Rev. Rich is hosting a ‘Dads and Kids Sports’ Night’. 

It’s sure to be a fun evening for dads and their children.

We are inviting children from Year 3,4,5 and 6.

All Dads (Uncles,Granddads) are invited to come and have some sporting fun.

All abilities and fitness levels welcome.

Come ready to enjoy an evening of sharing sport with your children.

(If wet, it will still be on!)

Please let Mrs Stanley know if you wish to attend, how many children you will be bringing and if you have any further questions.

Year 4 Empty Classroom Day!

Take a look at Ash's natural masterpiece! The children chose to recreate the Broadford tree using natural materials and worked brilliantly as a team. 

They also completed some still life Art of flowers and leaves in their environment. They took their time to look for detail and shade to make their drawings as true to life as possible.

Year 4 Litter March!

The Year 4 children have been keeping our local area clean and tidy recently by carrying ou regular litter collections. Amazingly, on our first litter march they gathered 11 bags of rubbish in just one session!

The children have learnt about the effect of plastic on the planet and how it can cause serious harm to living creatures in the wild.

"This is so upsetting" said Naz as she watched tonnes of plastic being poured into landfill.

The children have truly impressed their teachers with their determination to make a difference and keep pour local area clean. They have willingly used their lunch times to collect rubbish, even begging their teachers for more rubbish bags!

"I need to pick this up it could get into a birds tummy" explained Lewis.

Well done Year 4 you eco-warriors!

Super Sniffers in Year 4

This week in Science year 4’s had a smelly time! They designed their own experiment to measure the time in which different oils diffused. They made sure to collect numerical data and we will enter this into google sheets to create graphs of their data.

“I had to go outside for some fresh air because all the smells were filling my nose” - Hollie

“I predicted I would be able to smell the orange quicker because it is in cleaning products” - Leanne

As a result of this lesson the children were able to discuss the notion of fair testing and develop their reciprocity skills to design a successful experiment.
