Young Apprentices at the Christmas Bazaar

This year, some of the children from years 3 and 4 decided to make their own contribution to the Friends of Broadford Christmas Bazaar.

They got busy making hama bead decorations, christmas cookies and bookmarks to sell at their own stall on the day.  It was like Santa's workshop!

They were very successful at both creating and selling their masterpieces and made a respectable £46 to contribute to the school - well done!

Here are some pictures of their products and the selling team at work:

Book Club goes to the West End!

On the 14th November, twelve children from Book Club had the opportunity to see the book they have been studying performed live at the Cambridge Theatre, Covent Garden.

The Book Club has been reading the Roald Dahl classic 'Matilda' this term and have been enjoying studying the characters and discussing the events of the story with one another.  They were fortunate enough to then see the story come to life on stage in the musical production of the book.

They had a great day out and even managed to squeeze in a tour around the Covent Garden Piazza and saw some of the street entertainers too!

Here are some of the pictures from the day...

On the way home, the children interviewed each other to find out what were their best bits.

"I thought it was breathtaking! My favourite part was when Matilda started talking in Russian because that wasn't in the book, but to tell the truth I thought all of it was funny!" - Spencer Griffiths, Birch

"I thought it was amazing and my favourite part was when Bruce Bogtrotter ate all the chocolate cake!" - Dylan Houlston, Birch

"My favourite part was when Matilda swapped the hair dye and turned her dad's hair green...that was cool!" - Holly Clark, Rowan
