Year 3 & 4 Racket Pack

Year 3 and 4 Racket Pack

Racket Pack was an event full of badminton activities. Each activity needed to show teamwork to get the task completed. This was proven due to Broadford receiving a certificate for polite manners and gaining confidence throughout the event.

Well done Broadford!

Year 3 Maths Journey

Year 3 Maths Journey

This week in maths we came to the end of our 'Mass and Capacity' unit. The children had the opportunity to use mechanical weighing scales to measure the mass of a range of items in the classroom, they then searched for items with an equivalent mass. We discussed the difference between capacity and volume and how to find that information using the measurement lines on a jug or beaker. We had the opportunity to use water to fill jugs to a given measurement, ready to help out with some baking at home!

Next, we will be looking back at fractions!

'Capacity is the maximum amount of liquid a jug can hold.' - Osazemen

‘Volume is the amount of liquid in the container at the time’ - George

Year 3 Certificates - 17.03.23

Well done to all of Year 3 for their fantastic efforts this week!

Continuing with our Literacy story, Escape from Pompeii, pupils have just written an independent piece based on a different volcano eruption. Can they tell you which one? Today they were able to write some great pieces about what happened, when it happened and much more!

In Maths, we are finishing up on looking at fractions with our focus this week being equivalent fractions. We were able to explore this practically using a range of resources and apply it to real life situations.

In RE we had the opportunity to explore the beliefs of the Buddhist religion and identify some of the key items they have in their shrine. We discussed ways in which the religions we have learnt about have things in common, such as, having a place of worship to visit, a set of rules or teachings to live by and they often worship at home.

E for E - George, Umar and Rosie

Star Writer - Safiyyah, James and Nasrat

4 R's - Ali, Jefflyn, Erikas

Teacher Happy - Charlie, Lemar

Presentation - Billy

Congratulations to all of our wonderful certificate winners!
