Year 4's Jubilee Celebration!

This week Year Four have been celebrating the grand Platinum Jubilee of our beloved Queen by learning about the 1970s and her reign and the history of that decade.

We studied the inventions of the 1970s (and made our teachers feel old!). We also designed our own fashion models using inspiration from 1970s iconic styles and trends. Our choir representatives even performed in the whole school assembly, singing about the queen.

Today, we have been cooking English food from the 1970s to truly immerse ourselves in the history.
Dressed in our blue, white and red, Year Four had tons of fun and showed brilliant resourcefulness and reciprocity when preparing - and eating!

We finished our day with the wonderful game of rounders. We began to learn how to bat, bowl, field and even some top-notch cheerleading!

Viking Day in Year 4! 6.1.2022

What a fantastic way to begin 2022 in Year 4; with a full day of exploring our historical skills and learning more about the daily life of the fearsome Vikings.

We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to all parents and families for their extraordinary efforts for this day at such short notice. You are all absolutely wonderful and instrumental in ensuring that we all had a successful day.

The activities ranged from weaving to excavating, painting to candle making, construction to ink making, and even a preparation camp for our legendary battle. The children used their resourceful skills to make the most of their day and to do their best in each workshop and for each task. Most of the teachers had never attempted these skills before and it was very impressive to see how resilient the students were when faced with new adventures.

Here is a snippet of our day for you all to enjoy!

Year 4 - It's Coming Home!

Year Four have been celebrating and supporting the English football team this week in the lead up to the semi finals of Euro 2020/21 and now, going into the final! Frankie (Larch class) had the great idea that we should make some flags to decorate Ash, Birch and Larch in support of the English team and to celebrate team work.

"It's some important to work as a team and that's why they have done so well," Tavia (Larch)

Is it coming home this Sunday night? Year Four certainly believe so; COME ON ENGLAND!

"All the teams are working very hard but England is the best!" Kayden, Birch.

Football’s coming home!” - Ash class
