Science Week

For Science Week year 3 and 4 have been carrying out an investigation in order to make a volcano erupt!
So far we have made the volcano using a plastic bottle, card and paper mache.

The more paper and glue we put on the stronger the volcano became.

The next step is to paint them to make them look like real volcanoes!

After that we will be making a chemical reaction in order to make the volcanoes erupt. To do this we will be using bicarbonate of soda, vinegar, wam water, food colouring and washing up liquid.
What will happen?

The Big Pedal Is Over!

Enormous congratulations and thank you to everyone who cycled or scooted to school over the past two weeks.

I am pleased to announce that within the Greater London area we placed 61st out of 121. This includes schools that are within London and Essex, and as far afield as Surrey, Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

Nationally Broadford Primary School came 602nd out of a massive 1056 schools.

Over the two weeks 23% of our pupils made 951 journeys on bicycles and scooters.

Well done to everyone for choosing a more sustainable mode of travel to school and reducing your carbon footprint.

You should all feel very proud of yourself.

It always seems impossible until it is done.

The Big Pedal 2014

A massive well done to everyone who contributed to making 1 million journeys to school during this year's Big Pedal. All of the journeys have now been logged and are still being counted up! Results will be available after 3.30pm today.

This is a new record, so every school, pupil, parent and staff member should be really proud.

Look out for Broadford’s results tomorrow. Thank to everyone who took part.
