Melisa builds a parachute!

Melisa conducted scientific investigations over the bank holiday. She was curious to learn more about forces and decided to build a parachute to investigate air resistance. She found out that the bigger the parachute, the more air resistance there will be - this means the parachute will fall slowly (and safely). If you want to build a parachute here's how;
You will need: a big plastic bag, some wool or string, scissors and tape.
First you cut the handles off the bag.
Next you cut 8 holes around the bottom edge of the bag.
Then you cut 8 pieces of wool or string, all the same length.
After that tie the wool through each hole cut in the bag (tie it nice and tight so it doesn't come loose).
Next wrap tape around each knot.
Then tie all 8 pieces together at the bottom and attached an action figure to the bottom.
Finally go outside, find a high spot and  let it drop!
Tip - if you and your friend each build a parachute, you can time to see which one has more air resistance.
