Potato News

Ash, Birch and Rowan have been keeping a close eye on our potatoes. We planted them before the break and this week we’ve noticed a few promising sprouts from our potato plants.

Rowan is a little dissapointed that we haven't seen any signs of potato life just yet, we have been watering our plants daily and this week we have moved our potato plant to a sunnier spot, stay tuned to see what happens!
Ash noticed a wee sprout peeking through the earth, its growing more everyday. We have been watering our plants everyday and with the sun shining on our plants, we are looking forward to watching them grow. Nathan and Ella squealed with delight, they told Miss D. that, “It was very fun planting the potatoes, they look fabulous and they will taste lovely. They are growing so fast!”

Birch class reported, "we planted out potatoes when we arrived back from our Easter holidays. Then the sun shone down and there was no frost during the night. After two and a half weeks we have seven small shoots. We put them in the sun and water them daily. Our hope is that they will produce enough potatoes so that each member of the class can take one home!"
