In maths this week, Year 3 and 4 are learning about fractions.
Rowan class decided to use pizzas to help them understand fractions as a part of a whole and also what equivalent fractions look like. They even reached working out what 1/32 of a pizza would look like!

May the force be with you!
This term, in Year 3/4 we will be investigating forces!
We have taken a practical approach to this and have been exploring the force of gravity and friction in every day life, as well as measuring forces using Newton meter.
Here are pictures of some of our investigations:
This week we looked at air resistance and made parachutes which we launched from our treehouse - we had lots of fun while learning! Be sure to ask us what we found out!

Rowan's Road Safety Talk!
Last term, Year 3 and 4 was visited by London Borough of Havering Road Safety team, who told them all about how to be safe when using roads and pavements outside of school. Rowan wanted to share this information with the early years pupils to make sure that they too were safe when using their new outdoor area.
Today, rowan class visited the Reception and Nursery children to teach them how to use their new bike track safely.
The message was clear - stop, look, listen, think!
Rowan made posters, explained road signs and put together a set of simple instructions to help the children follow these steps.
