Year 3 Certificates
What a fabulous last week of the Spring term, we have had in Year 3!
The children completed their Literacy topic all about poetry, with a grand finale performance, and what fantastic poems the children all wrote. The children also had an online author event with Eric Huang and his Guardians of the New Moon series.
In Maths, we have been continuing with fractions, which has been tricky for many of the children, but as always, they have demonstrated great resilience to keep on trying to problem solve.
We have also had a wonderful Easter Parade, where the children were able to show off their beautiful bonnets as well as an Easter Egg Hunt in Literacy, linking to our poetry unit, the children had to follow and solve the rhyming clues to find the chocolate!
It has been a very busy week and the children have all been superstars. This week's certificate winners are;
E for Excellence - Zara K, Lawrence, Lucas
Star Writer - Edie, Victor, Nikita
Teacher Happy - Alfie, Noah, Bella
4R's - Alice, Sophia, Hayden
The Year 3 Team, would like to thank you all for your continued support. We hope that you all have a restful, relaxing break and we look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday 22nd April.
Year 4's Egg-static for Easter!
The Year 4's have engaged in some Easter festivities this week!
As Easter marks a time of new life, we looked at how this is expressed in many ways. The Easter Story tells us of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; the Spring season, with all of creation, is singing the song of new life.
The children embodied this message as they created and paraded their Easter bonnets and headdresses.
The music brought joy and some fabulous dance moves!
There were so much effort and creativity put into the hats in year 4, that it made it an extremely challenging task for the teachers to choose a winner from each class.
Thank you for all your support with the donations and time invested in this Easter tradition.
"I used an old christmas reef to create the bird's nest , some grass and some paper plates to make my Easter Bonnet." - Olivia, Elm
Our Year 4's also embarked on a Easter egg hunt. They had to locate the eggs dotted around the playground. Once retrieved, they were then able to guess the Easter themed words.
"The first word is Chocolate!" - Amaira, Willow
We would like to wish you all a wonderful Easter break and hope it is a time of refreshing and fun.
Year 3 Learning Journey
This week at Broadford, the children in Year 3 were embracing Easter and joined an Easter Egg Hunt and Parade.
The Easter Egg hunt, which links to our work on Poetry in Literacy over the last few weeks, took place on Friday and it was such a great experience for the children and their teachers. It was lovely to see the joy on the children's faces as they decoded the clues and raced to the next station. The children showed off their impressive team-working and reciprocity.
The children also took part in the annual Broadford Easter Bonnet Parade on Wednesday and it was fantastic to see their resourcefulness skills on display. Thank you to the children and parents who worked so hard on their contributions for the parade and well done to our Year 3 winners!
We hope that you all have a wonderful half-term break and we will see you at the start of the Summer term on Tuesday 22nd April 2025.

Year 4 TTRS Challenge!
Calling all Year 4 parents!
We are holding a competition over Easter to engage the Year 4 pupils in times tables rock stars!
The aim is to encourage the pupils to do as many soundchecks as they possibly can over the Easter holidays. From each class, the three pupils who have logged the most soundchecks over Easter will receive a reward in the first week back at school.
This means even if your children have never completed a soundcheck before they are in for a chance to win!
Please remind and encourage the children to complete their soundchecks as this will increase their chances of being successful in their multiplication test this year.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
Ready, steady, ROCK!
