Visit to the Greenwich Maritime Museum

To conclude our topic on the Tudors, yesterday years 3 and 4 went on a school visit to the Greenwich Maritime Museum!

There were lots of interesting things to see and do there, but we were particularly interested in the exhibitions showing artefacts from Tudor explorers, such as letters to and frrom Queen Elizabeth I and Sir Francis Drake.

We each took turns to meet a real Tudor explorer and find out more about his expedition around the world and how he discovered the Americas.

We also got to have some hands on fun when we visited the Children's Gallery.  Here we got to have a go at sailing a modern ship down the River Thames on a special Ship Simulator! In addition to this, we were also able to dress up and act out how life would be aboard a ship.

Thank you to all pupils in year 3 and 4 for behaving so well and making the day so enjoyable!

More pictures to follow soon...
