Birch Class Research the Y4 Trip

This afternoon, Birch class were set an inquiry-based task into the best way to reach our destination on Friday: Greenwich Pier. What appeared to be a difficult task proved to really test some of the growth mindsets of the class. Working in groups, students were asked to find the best, cheapest, and most efficient modes of transport to reach our starting point for our tour of the river.

Callum used his knowledge of the London Underground map to tell us that we would need to change at Stratford, then go southbound on the DLR if we were to take the tube; Sacha noticed that to cycle from our school to Hornchurch station would take the same amount of time if we took the bus; and Diya, Henry, and Daniel observed that there are more than one underground stops with Greenwich in their name. Excellent resourcefulness and reciprocity Birch Class!
