In Science this week, Ash class were introduced to their new science topic of Acids and Alkalis! The students had many questions about the nature of acids, how strong they can be, if they are dangerous and where they can be found in everyday life. Their investigation consisted juicing the oranges using their muscles and a pestle and mortar, then testing the juice for its level of acidity...
Having made a prediction at the start of the lesson, the students confirmed whether or not their prediction was correct. After testing the PH scale using the Universal Indicator paper, we decided to test the soap in the bathroom and some tomatoes in our class fruit bowl.
Fantastic work, Ash Class, we will continue Acids, and Alkalis next week!
