Safer Internet Day 2025

This week at Broadford, KS2 celebrated Safer Internet Day by joining Schools from across the Country in a live lesson and becoming 'Scam Smashers'. The theme of this lesson was 'Spot the online scams' and, as part of this live lesson, the children were using their inference skills to spot the different signs of a scam including pop-ups, spelling errors in a post and when something sounds too good to be true. .

The lesson discussed the importance of not clicking on links and ensuring that children have a strong password containing random words, a capital letter. a number and a special character, such as the '@' symbol or an exclamation mark.

The children loved the interactive elements of the lesson and were able to discuss the many ways in which they can keep themselves safe online by avoiding, and then reporting, pop-ups or links.
