Year 3 - WILD Passport day

What a fantastic first full day of WILD Passport our Year 3 pupils had!

We started the day by learning to braid as a team, discovering that clear communication, listening and cooperation were essential to creating a successful braid. The children showed great patience and encouraged each other throughout.

We then explored our Zones of Regulation by making emotion sticks using vegetable peelers. This gave us the opportunity to discuss different emotions, how we recognise them and which emotions we had experienced or were feeling during the day.

The children also enjoyed exploring nature using magnifying glasses, looking closely at their surroundings and discovering some of the smaller details in the natural world.

In the afternoon, we worked together during orienteering, using maps to find different locations around the school. This challenged the children to use their map-reading, problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.

It was a busy and exciting day, with lots of opportunities to learn, explore and work together. We are so proud of the enthusiasm and teamwork shown by everyone and can't wait for our next WILD Passport adventure!

What to Bring to Every WILD Passport Session

Please make sure your child brings the following to every session:

  • Wellington boots

  • Spare long trousers – navy blue or black jogging bottoms

As the months get colder, please also send your child in with:

  • A warm coat

  • Gloves

  • A scarf

  • A warm hat

Independence is an important part of WILD Passport. Children should be able to change into their clothes and shoes independently. Please practise getting changed, putting on wellington boots and managing coats, hats and gloves at home so they can confidently do this themselves.
