Year 3 travel back to World War 2

On Friday children in Year 3 and 4 had the opportunity to watch a performance depicting the life of Sergeant Tull during his time serving in the British Army in World War 2. The performance focused on life during the war and the sacrifices the men and women serving in the army had to make to protect Queen and country.

In the afternoon children in year 3 were able to handle some artefacts from the war, including foot powder and different types of gas masks. Making observations the children worked together to describe and make predictions to what they thought the artefacts were used for during the 1940s.

To immerse themselves into life on the battle ground the children came together to construct a performance of their own.
