Goodbye Sequoia!
First of all a big thank you to all the parents and carers for their kind words, cards and gifts. We were truly spoilt and are very grateful. Secondly we would like to say good luck and goodbye to each and every pupil in Sequoia- you will be missed. There were challenges but we certainly had our fun times, but we are not going anywhere so if you need a chat make sure you come and find us. Have a fabulous and safe summer break.
As you know, we have been studying WW2 and the life of evacuees. We just about managed to finish our gas masks, let's hope they don't creep up on you in the dark wearing them!

Ash Trip!
Ash class had a fantastic time on their navigation trip last week. The children had spent many weeks prior planning their routes using google maps and the London underground tube map to work out exactly which landmarks they wanted to see and the most sensible journey to take.
They even researched where they would be able to go to the toilet and calculated the times spent at different locations to ensure they could fit it all in.
Between them, they managed to see:
Buckingham palace (including changing of the guard)
Hyde park (including the Princess Diana memorial fountain)
St. James' park
The Gherkin
The Shard
Tower bridge
The Tower of London
The millennium bridge
The London eye
Marble arch
Westminster bridge
City hall
A successful (and very tiring) day all round!
Well done children - your map work and reciprocity skills really shone throughout the day which you should be very proud of!

Birch Let's Navigate Trip
Birch had an absolutely fabulous day exploring London last week! The children's planning really paid off and their itineraries were simple to follow. They used their navigating skills to follow the tube maps and were counting down the stations until they had to exit, and used the larger maps around the city to identify which direction they needed to walk in. The teachers were blown away with the children's exemplary behaviour and positive attitudes throughout the day; they were responsible on public transport and represented the school well. Each group were extremely excited by all the buildings they saw and even kept count of all the extra things they were able to cover on top of their 5 locations!
