Year 3 are as busy as beavers!

Year 3 have been looking at similes as part of their fiction unit around Science Fiction! We learnt that similes use words such ‘like’ or ‘as’ to compare two similar things.

The classes played games of match the similes where they had to try to match two parts of a simile so it made sense. Only using previous knowledge the children really did well, finding similes such as ‘as cold as ice’.

After this, some children then tried out some similes onto whiteboard, and then wrote their own into their books.

Hannah said “similes are when you compare one thing to another.”
