Year 4 have had such a brilliant start to the Summer term, especially in maths. They have started their new topic on fractions and have been investigating what a fraction is and how it can be represented in a number of different ways.
The children showed outstanding reciprocity by working together using concrete objects to represent fractions and some were even able to demonstrate fractions of amounts using chalk on the playground!
"The denominator is how many equal parts the whole is divided INTO!" - Ash class
"I know that an equivalent fraction to a half is 3 over 6." - Amelia D, Larch
"Now I have used the pictures and objects to help me, I really get fractions!" - Harry, Larch
We are so proud of how hard all the children are working; it is great to see the progress that they are already making being back at school. Well done, year 4!
