In Science today, Year 3 were introduced to the scientific vocabulary: transparent, opaque and translucent. These were important words for us to learn in our topic 'Light' and were essential to our comparative and fair test that we were going to do in our lesson.
"This material is opaque because it blocks out light." - Maya-Rose
"I think that blinds are best made out of felt because it is opaque" - Korey
"The blinds in our classroom are translucent because they let in some light" - Kyla
The children compared different materials to decide which one would be best for making blinds.
