To kick start our last term together, Year 3 have had an exciting week immersing themselves in our new Literacy book 'George's Marvellous Medicine!'
We started the week by looking at different pieces of equipment such as paint, food coloured water, spoons, pictures and poems. We worked together in groups to predict what we think our new book might be about. We then completed a puzzle of the front cover in Guided Reading to find out it was George's Marvellous Medicine! The children used their reflectiveness skills very well to reflect on their inference and retrieval skills and they displayed great reciprocity skills when working together.
We have then moved on to asking questions of what we would like to know about the book and we have delved into character description of George and Grandma. The children used a thesaurus to up level their adjectives and we created a role on the wall to keep in class.
'I predict that the boy is creating a potion to make the lady disappear!' - Elsie
'I predict that he is going to spill the pot if he tries to move it because it is too heavy.' - Teddy
'How will George administer the medicine?' - George
