Year 3 Maths

Stay and Learn

On Tuesday,  Year 3 welcomed parents for our second Stay and Learn session of the year. The teachers and staff were very happy to see so many of our parents in attendance and we hope you found the experience fun, yet informative.

At the Stay and Learn session we discussed how Maths is taught at Broadford Primary School using I do, we do and you do to break down new learning into manageable chunks. This is to ensure children do not become overwhelmed or confused by new learning. We also use dienes and counters to assist children with their understanding in maths.

Moving on to Length and Perimeter

This week, the children have moved on to their next topic in maths, Length and Perimeter. As part of this topic the children will be measuring classroom items and converting millimetres into centimetres and centimetres into metres.

Number Day 2024

On Friday, Broadford Primary School celebrated number day by asking children to dress up as something related to the theme of numbers. It was so amazing to see so many children dressed in football kits and as rubix cubes.
