Today in PE we focused on flexibility. We began the lesson by becoming a star, stretching our bodies wide and tall. From there, children learnt to calm themselves through controlled breathing, helping them to focus before moving into the main activity.
The class then practised a variety of flexible poses, each one held for 10 seconds to build strength, balance, and control. Working in groups of 3 or 4, children composed their own sequences of flexible positions and confidently demonstrated these to the rest of the class.
To finish, we reflected together on which poses were the most challenging to hold, and why. Many children noticed that balance, stretching muscles, and staying still for longer made some poses harder than others.
