Year 4 Trip Form - July 2019

The children in Year 4 are very excited for our navigation trip to London!

They have been busily planning their routes and working out the time it will take to travel to a variety of landmarks.

Please follow the link below to complete the trip form:

Year 3 Trip to the Orbit

Dear Parents and Carers,

At Broadford, we recognise the importance of an enriching curriculum inside and outside of the classroom and have therefore planned an ‘experience entitlement’ that will serve to enrich the learning of the children. In Year 3, the children are offered the exciting opportunity to visit the famous 21st century landmark, The ArcelorMittal Orbit in Stratford, on Thursday 4th July.

As well as going up The ArcelorMittal Orbit, the children will have a chance to walk around and explore the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford. A voluntary charge of £5 is needed to cover the cost of entry which needs to be paid via sQuid from tomorrow (25.06.19). Please ask the office should you require any assistance. If not enough contributions are made, the trip will have to be cancelled.

Children need to arrive in the morning at normal school time. We will be leaving Stratford at 1:30pm and will be back in school before the end of the day. We will endeavour to keep you updated via our Facebook page and blog. We would appreciate any parent helpers so please let your child’s teacher know if you are available to help.

We will be travelling by public transport. Children are required to wear school uniform and bring a packed lunch and water bottle with them. Please complete the form as soon as possible, especially if your child requires a school packed lunch so that the order can be placed in time to the kitchen.

Year 3 Trip - V&A Childhood Museum

Last week, year 3 braved the bus, the train, and the tube to arrive at the V&A Museum of Childhood. The children were treated to a workshop lead by Madeleine, an expert in historic clothes, who told us fascinating facts about unusual clothing. Some very lucky volunteers even displayed clothes to their classes!

The rest of the time was spent exploring the numerous interactive toys, games, and displays. The only complaint seemed to be that we had to leave!

This is definitely a place we would recommend that you could take the children to again.  The museum is free and very easy to get to, just two stops on the central line from Statford.

As well as the displays, there were lots of relevant artifacts and toys for the children to look at based on our new topic of childhood during the second World War. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and many children agreed that it was their favourite trip of year 3!

Thank you very much to all our parent volunteers who gave a much-appreciated helping hand!
