Jubilee Celebrations!

 

Lovely Jubilee! Celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee ♛

During the week beginning 23rd May, pupils will be taking part in lots of exciting activities to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee!  

Each year group will focus on a decade of the Queen's reign and explore some areas of life in that given decade.  Please see below for a schedule for the week (subject to change).

Design and make pinwheels, crowns, bunting and paper chains.

Create a time capsule of memories.

Bake scones for Afternoon Tea.

Create portraits, collages, flags and crowns.

Write party invitation

Practise and perform a song.

Year 2

1990s

Explore the Royal family tree

Design and make hats, flags and bunting.

Create a 90s fact file.

Practise and perform a song (mmm bop by Hanson)

Year 3

1980s

Create portraits of the Queen & her Corgis

Learn about commonwealth countries where the Queen is head of state

Design an 80s inspired outfit

Create a Platinum Jubilee inspired sandwich.

Design a game to be played at garden party

Practise and perform a song from the 80s.

1970s

Make 70s party food (cheese twists).

Learn about inventions through the 70s

Sing, perform and dance Dancing Queen by ABBA

Create a fact file for the 70s

Design and make party crafts (crowns, bunting)

Year 5

1960s

Create pop art of the Queen

Play games in the park

Design a ‘blow football’ game (linked to the 1966 World Cup)

Practise and perform a song from the 1960s

Year 6

1950s

Create a presentation about the Queen and Jubilee

Design a 1950s outfit

Research and create a fact file about an aspect of the 1950s

Make bunting and sandwiches for the party

Perform ‘The Stroll’ by The Diamonds.
