What a fantastic day Year 3 have had celebrating Diwali. The children were so excited coming into school all dressed in their bright colours, we even had some rainbow coloured hair!
The children have been super busy learning all about Diwali - The Festival of Light, what it means to those who celebrate it and why it is important to their religion.
One of our amazing Year 3 children brought in lots of pictures and information from home to share with the year group, as well as informing us about Diwali and how he celebrates the festival with his family and friends. Thank you Veer for demonstrating your reciprocity skills and for your super explanation!
In the afternoon, the children were able to design their own Rangoli patterns before going to our outdoor learning environment to create them using coloured chalks. The children used their resourcefulness skills to transfer their designs from paper to concrete, thinking carefully about which media would work better on different surfaces.
'Diwali is so fun!' - George
'I know that Diwali is the Festival of Light.' - Darren
'Rangoli patterns are placed to bring good luck.' - Elena
We would like to thank you for your continued support and we wish you a restful half term. We look forward to seeing the children back in school on Tuesday 1st November.
