Over the last two weeks, the Year 3 children have been visiting the local library in Harold Hill, where they have been able to look at and choose a library book that they will keep in school.
The children walked like superstars to and from the library and demonstrated their resourcefulness skills by using it as a learning experience, linking it to Geography, and describing what human and physical features they could spot on the way.
Once they arrived at the library, the children had a talk given by our local Librarian Viv, who then read them a story and showed them how the Dewey Decimal System worked before allowing them to choose their own book, which they have been able to bring back to school to read.
Your child will bring home an application form to become a member of the library, if you would like to sign your child up, you will need to fill in the form and take it, along with something to identify your name and address to the library.
Well done Year 3 for being positive role models for Broadford Primary School and being polite and kind to members of our local community, who we met along the way.
