In Science this week, the children had to predict which material would be best to use to make a pair of curtains to block out the sunlight. This is linked to our Literacy lesson where we have been reading the book 'The King who Banned the Dark.'
The children received a letter with their mission to find the best material, this caused much excitement as they discussed what they could use and why they thought it would block the light.
They learnt some new vocabulary and were able to use this within their writing, describing translucent, transparent and opaque objects.
'I predict that the card will be the best material to block out the light.' - Rosie
'I predict that the foil will be the best because it is crunchy and when you shin light against it, it will be opaque.' - Joshua
'I was really excited to read my mission.' - Rojure
