Year 3 Certificates 10.03.23

Well done to all of Year 3 this week for their fantastic efforts!

In Literacy, pupils have read the book 'Escape from Pompeii' and were able to create some brilliant newspaper reports. We identified the key features of a newspaper report, took on th role of a witness and reporter and then planned what we would include in our report. We were able to include SPAG features such as inverted commas, subordinating conjunctions and used a formal tone throughout our writing.

In RE, pupils looked at the story of Moses and were able to summarise the key events in the story. We watched a video, led by a young Jewish believer, who showed us around a Synagogue and informed us of some of their worship routines. We discussed how the Torah is kept in Arc and cannot be touched unless the user is wearing gloves.

In Geography, pupils were able to identify the UK, Italy and Russia on a map independently. We then looked at how countries may be in the same continent, but they have different laws and cultures. We use an information sheet to work out where different people were from by identifying which languages they spoke, the currency they used and the colours of their flag.
