Year 3 Certificate Blog

It’s been another exciting week of learning and year 3 have been working very hard indeed.

In Maths, the children have been learning how to multiply by 3, 4 and 8 and have then applied this knowledge when completing our maths work. The children have demonstrated resilience within their maths lessons this week. Well done!

In Literacy, the children have been continuing to read ‘The King Who Banned the Dark’, and have been planning and writing a newspaper report. The teachers were very impressed with all of your hard work and have seen a huge improvement with your handwriting this week.

Year 3 Topic - The Iron Age

During this week, the Year 3 classes delved into the historical occupations of the Iron Age. The children showed avid curiosity as they explored the intricacies of livelihoods such as farming, metal work, and pottery, and engaged in discussions regarding the societal significance of these roles in the era.

Using their collaborative skills, the children embarked on drama based activities, portraying the actions and responsibilities associated with each vocation.

Subsequently, the pupils demonstrated their Reflectiveness skills by performing their enacted scenarios in front of their peers, showcasing not only their grasp of historical concepts but also their confidence and resilience.

Fabulous French in Year 3

This week in French, the children began their next topic 'Parts of the Body' The children were introduced to the new vocabulary for the different parts of the body, we used a lot of 'My Turn, Your Turn'  and then the children worked with their partner to recap each part. They listened to a song to help them to remember the correct pronunciation of each part.

The children then went on to complete a challenge of matching the part of the body picture cards to the correct vocabulary. All children showed great resilience while learning the different parts of the body and use their reciprocity skills to work together to complete the challenge.

Tres Bien Year 3 !

Year 3 Visit the Synagogue

Year 3 had a fabulous visit to the Synagogue this week, where we were warmly welcomed by the Jewish Community.

Both mornings were fun and  informative. We began with the children being shown around the different parts of the Synagogue, including the prayer area, where they were able to see the Torah and Scrolls. They looked at Hebrew writing and discussed how it was different from their handwriting. The children asked some very thoughtful questions and were extremely respectful at all times.
