In Math this half term we have continued learning about addition and subtraction! Recently, our focus has been on using the column method to find the answers to sums. We started using the method without any exchanging or regrouping and have worked our way up to answering more challenging sums.
This week we have looked at adding and subtracting two numbers crossing tens. We have learned about exchanging one ten for ten ones when subtracting, and regrouping our ten ones into one ten when adding.
In todays lesson, we put our knowledge to the test by adding and subtracting across a ten! Pupils had to identify which operation they were asked to use, then use the column method to find the correct answer.
Year 3 you are smashing the column method at the moment! Keep up the brilliant work!
