World Book Day in Year 3

The children had an amazing day today.  They took part in some lovely activities and their costumes were fab.  It was great to see so many of the children really thinking about their favourite character and dressing as them.

The year 3 children were really excited about reading to the Reception children, and they made an effort to choose texts that would engage the children.  The confident readers that are reading every day at home really shone with their expression and fluency.

In the afternoon the children took part in various reading linked activities including designing a book token and decorating the class doors.  The door decorating competition is a whole school initiative and the children took great pride in the designing and decorating.  Sequoia class chose Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Hazel Class chose Matilda. We can't wait to hear which class won.

We certainly celebrated reading in style!
