"Books are a uniquely portable magic"
World Book Day in year 4 was certainly a magical sight to see! There was such a variety of costumes, showing how passionate the children are about their favourite books. We had superhero's and princesses, ninjas, Gangsta Granny, Peter Pan's shadow, Harry Potter characters, Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland characters, and so many more! Check out these fabulously creative outfits:
We also participated in the whole-school competition to decorate our doors! Ash decided on a ‘Harry Potter’ theme and even got creative using their chrome books to add some personalised magic to their door in to Hogwarts. Can you name all of the HP objects on the door? Birch class chose to decorate their door based on the book ‘Koala Lou’; an Australian book that Miss Hamlin read to them. Can you see any other Aussie animals hidden?
The children thoroughly enjoyed reading to Alder and Pine class and it was really beautiful watching them read to each other. They used great expression, asked questions, and supported the younger children brilliantly with their reading. Well done year 4!
Overall it was truly a great day where we all shared our love of reading.
Remember to continue filling in your child's reading log at home!
