Year 3 celebrate Eid

Yesterday, Muslim worshippers around the world celebrated the festival of Eid al-Fitr, commonly known as Eid, to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

As part of our RE lessons and during the afternoon the children learnt about the festival of Eid. The children then drew around their own hands and decorated them with henna patterns.

Faizah in Cherry- "Muslims remember Ibrahim sacrificing the lamb"
Elisa in Cedar- "The date we celebrate Eid changes each year depending on the moon."
Danny in Elm - "Eid is a festival of light"

It was lovely to see the children in their bright colours enjoying the activity and learning more about why Eid is such a special festival for Muslims.
