Marvellous multiplication and division in Year 3!

 This half term in Maths, we are learning all about multiplication and division! 

 We begin by recapping our knowledge from last year, looking at our 2, 5 and 10 times tables and how to divide by 2, 5 and 10. We then develop our understanding of the 3, 4 and 8 times tables and learn how to divide by 3, 4 and 8. In each lesson, we use cubes/dienes to help us multiply and divide, we then strengthen our understanding by drawing equal groups and finally are able to use abstract methods. 

We can then use our reflective skills to answer questions such as 'Share 32 cubes between 4 groups' or '32 divided by 4' by using methods we have learnt over the past 2 weeks.
