In Maths, we have been looking at measuring using mm, cm, m and km. We had to choose which measuring tool out of a ruler, meter stick and tape measure would be most appropriate to measure items in our classroom. We have also begun converting between one unit of measure to another!
In Literacy, we created our first diary entry, writing as Peter from our class book 'How to Live Forever'. We summarised the story, reenacted different scenes, planned our diary, created our own diary entry and then edited and improved our work! There have been some fantastic diary entries created, Colin Thompson (the author) would be very proud.
In science this week, we had the opportunity to conduct an experiment outside. We looked at how different materials create different levels of friction and what that means to our toy car. We used our school environment, a ramp, toy cars and rulers to test different surfaces and create a conclusion based on our findings. We have some super Scientists in Year 3!
Congratulations to all of our wonderful certificate winners!
