It's been a wonderful week of learning in year 3, here's what we have been learning about this week.
In Maths, the children completed their learning on fractions and began to explore mass and capacity. As part of this, we estimated the mass of an ingredient and then checked if we were correct by using scales. We then measured out ingredients using the scales, allowing the children to become familiar with how we measure the mass of an object. Well done everyone, this was such a fun lesson!
In Literacy, the children planned and then completed their independent writing task on the topic of the devastating events that famously destroyed Pompeii. The children used their plans and a tick sheet to support them and were challenged to write in paragraphs, use the correct tense and use inverted commas correctly. All of the Year 3 teachers are proud of your efforts!
This week was British Science Week at Broadford Primary School and the children were focused on the topic of time. Each child recorded their resting pulse before competing in a running race and then recording their pulse after exercise. It was interesting to discuss and identify the factors which affected each child's differing results. Well done to everyone for taking part, you are all super scientists!
This week's certificate winners are...

Star Writer - James, Rio and Abrish.
