What we have been learning this week
Geography
This week we have completed our geography topic learning about natural disasters. We previously learnt about volcanoes, earthquakes and this week was flooding. The children correctly identified that flooding can be caused by heavy rain and tsunamis.
We learnt how the energy in a wave will look different out at sea compared to the coast. As the wave shortens, the force contained in the wave forces the sea upwards creating a giant wave, they can be 100 metres high!
Maths
This week we have been learning about converting fractions and adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator.
Literacy
In Literacy, the children have enjoyed reading ‘There’s a Boy in the Girl’s Bathroom’. We have had brilliant discussions about the characters in the book and have begun writing a persuasive letter to the class teacher in the story.
