This week, year 4 have started their new maths topic of DECIMALS.
To get everybody warmed up, Birch class were asked to use their iPads to stop their stopwatches as close to 5 seconds exactly as possible...
Sydney managed 5.01 seconds...
Sophie was proud to hit 5.02 seconds
And here, Naleli can be seen putting her time of 5.40 on her numberline, as well as Charis and Max who managed 4.74 seconds...
This was a great, competitive introduction to decimals and if you have a stopwatch at home, see how close you can get!
The class showed great reciprocity and we will be developing our knowledge of decimals over the next 3 weeks.
