In Ash class, our star writer for this week was Maisie!
Maisie consistently produces fantastic writing full of all the features! This week, I was particularly impressed with her story map trailer for 'Sugarcane juice'. Maisie is always an amazing partner and shares her ideas with the class.
I can't wait to see your advert, will Hamid survive?
Well done Maisie, you are a super star! Keep up the excellent work!
I can't wait to read more of your writing, Miss Daly :)

Sequoia go on a Right Angle hunt!
This week in maths, Sequoia have been investigating the different types of angles. They learned that any angle that is smaller than 90° is called an acute angle, any angle that is larger than 90° is an obtuse angle and an angle that is exactly 90° is called a right angle.
One of their jobs today was to see how many right angles they could spot around the classroom! They did very well!
"I saw that you can create your own right angle if you put two pencils together!" Joe, Sequoia.
"There were right angles everywhere! I even saw some on the ceiling tiles." Lewis, Sequoia.
How many right angles do you think you can spot at home Year 3?

Ash- Team work treat!
Last week, Ash class were given their class treat for their fantastic team work!
To start the afternoon, all the children designed their ice-cream surprise. Next, they took part in some team building activities that included a blind folded obstacle course and the crate challenge.
After the team building tasks, the class were treated to some ice-cream to cool down with the toppings and sauces of their choice :)
"It was so funny during the crate challenge when the group fell off." Maliat
"I had so much fun, my favourite part was the helping Ruby-May along the trail when she couldn't see!" Khaira
"I absolutely loved this treat. The ice-cream was delicious!" Fallon

Ash- Sorting super shapes!
Today in Maths, we worked in partners to classify different shapes in a Carroll diagram. We all used our knowledge of symmetry, parallel lines, angles and shapes. Throughout the task, we worked well with our partners, we used our resilience skills and we persevered when we found the task challenging! Everyone in the class also showed their reciprocity skills and worked together as a team.
Miss Daly was incredibly impressed with the class and their knowledge! :)

Year 3's Star Writers!
Year 3 were absolute superstars last week as they planned their folktales entitled "The Enchantress of the Ringing River".
The two children who particularly impressed us in Sequoia and Hazel this week were Elliott and Megan.
Elliott's plan involved an innovative way to cross the ringing river without the evil enchantress hearing. He planned for the herdsman (the hero in his story) to drop a magical stick in the water, which would make the river disappear!
In Megan's plan, the herdsman plays a magical flute, which calls special birds to fly the herdsman over the river!
We were so impressed with all of the creative ideas Year 3 came up with. We definitely have some amazing imaginations in Sequoia and Hazel!
Great job, Megan and Elliott!
