Year 3 Important Information - September 2019
Reading
Your child should have brought home a reading book by the end of last week, they should be reading every day at home and this needs to be recorded in their record. Furthermore even though they have been allocated a specific reading day they need to bring their book to school every day in case we get the opportunity to carry out an extra read with them or they take part in guided reading.
PE
At the moment Year 3's PE day is a Tuesday however this can change on a weekly basis with no notice. Therefore they need to bring their kit in at the start of each half term and it needs to stay in school. It can be taken home and washed at the end of each half term.
Lunches
As the new Year 3 pupils will now be joining in Key Stage 2 there are a few important changes that you need to be aware of. Pupils will no longer receive the universal free school meals and unless your child has an individual entitlement to free school meals, you will need to pay in advance for your child’s school meals via Squid or provide them with a packed lunch from home. Pupils will also be required to bring their own drink and snack in from home for break times as the free fruit snacks are only provided for Key Stage 1 pupils.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
